BA (Hons) Animation

Campus Full time 3 years September 2019 United Kingdom Nottingham

This cutting-edge course will give you the chance to learn about animation and explore it in a way that reflects current art and industry practice. You’ll have the opportunity to study the broadest range of disciplines including drawing, writing, 2D and 3D animation, character design, storyboarding, scoring, and directing. By the end of the course, you will have developed a thesis short animation and a professional showreel, tailored to your own career aspirations, and be ready to launch your creative career as an animator. BA (Hons) Animation

This cutting-edge course will give you the chance to learn about animation and explore it in a way that reflects current art and industry practice. Key features: Explore the whole subject area of animation – from drawing and writing to storyboarding and direction. Take part in live projects and competitions, giving you exposure to the industry. Have access to industry-standard equipment and software such as Autodesk's Maya, TVPaint and Dragonframe. Learn from course staff with industry experience and expertise in areas such as scriptwriting and sequential drawing. Complete short periods of work experience, to help you gain professional experience and skills. Apply to go on an overseas exchange to a partner university in Europe through the Erasmus programme. This exciting new degree course has been created in response to the rise of the global filmmaking industry. We’ll help you to develop a deep creative understanding of the art of filmmaking, focusing on the production of original, entertaining, and provocative content.

You’ll undertake the roles of writer, director, and producer while working on real-life briefs with our industry partners. We’ll teach you key technical and production skills, enabling you to produce a professional production folder tailored to your career goals.

Taught in partnership with NTU’s School of Arts and Humanities and Confetti Institute of Creative Technologies, you’ll benefit from a wide range of staff expertise and industry-standard facilities and equipment.... [-]
