Ishikawa Prefectural University

Introduction

Ishikawa Prefectural University is still a relatively young university 9 years since its establishment. Nevertheless, it has already been making considerable achievements on both the educational and research fronts. This is also evident in the university website, which, following its redesign in November last year, has become even further improved this academic year. It contains information on the teaching staff, including lists of accomplishments reflecting their research activities.

Ishikawa Prefectural University consists of a single faculty known as the Faculty of Bioresources and Environmental Sciences. We are conducting education and research with the mission of developing applied technology and exploring the principle of putting bioresources to use while seeking harmony between people and the environment. The three departments that the faculty is comprised of - Bioproduction Science, Environmental Science, and Food Science - are all grounded in bioscience, biotechnology, or agriculture, and enable academic research and student education to be undertaken. Research and education are intended to involve initiatives towards solving local issues with local people, placing importance on interactions within the university as well as those within the community.

Education and research conducted in our Graduate School further enhance the quest for truth in such disciplines, as well as their subsequent practical application, cultivating people capable of contributing to the welfare of mankind. The education, research, and regional contribution of our Graduate School speak for themselves.
