The University of Southern Denmark has more than 20,000 students and more than 3,200 employees. The university offers teaching and research at 6 campuses situated on Funen, in the south of Jutland, west of Zealand and in the capital city – in Odense, Kolding, Esbjerg, Sønderborg, Slagelse and Copenhagen.

The University of Southern Denmark has created an institution of higher research and education which provides first-class educational opportunities and is cooperation partner for both public and private businesses and organisations for providing qualified labour.

The Organisation

Research, teaching, communication and the transfer of knowledge at the University of Southern Denmark are grouped into five academic faculties:

  • The Faculty of Engineering

The overall goal of the University of Southern Denmark’s quality enhancement system is to facilitate and support the continuous improvements of our educations as stated in the university vision:

The quality enhancement activities are supported by a wide range of tasks each focusing on spotting trends and development indicators and supporting the organisation with up-to-date documentation, statistical statements and accreditation of programmes. Tasks that are centrally coordinated, but carried out for and in joint efforts with faculties, departments and other university units.

The focal point of the first year of the programme is to build a theoretical and methodological basis for later fieldwork, and for your future career in marketing. You will, therefore, learn about the analysis and understanding of markets, as well as cultural and economic networks, which drive resource circulation.You will also get anthropological insights in contemporary business and technological systems, as well as anthropological analysis of market systems. In addition, you will acquire knowledge about the foundational theory of marketing and consumption.During your third semester on the programme, you will undertake a major fieldwork project in collaboration with an academic supervisor from an international group of researchers who have studied market systems, organizations, and consumer culture from the polar circle to the Amazon, and from YouTube to the Sahel.In your fourth semester, you will write your Master’s thesis based on this fieldwork. This BSc programme in Economics and Business Administration is a general bachelor programme in economics and business administration with a focus on the management of firms' resources. This 3-year undergraduate programme is offered at Campus Odense.Our general business programme gives you a thorough grounding in all functional areas of a firm through a number of economic, legal and organizational topics in the business organization. We offer this concentration in Business Management with a distinct focus on the optimization of resources.
