The LIMAK Austrian Business School was founded in 1989 in cooperation with business, industry, the public sector and the Johannes Kepler University Linz. It was Austria’s first business school and is thus one of the oldest in Central Europe. The prime motivation for the decision to found the school was the facilitation of internationally-oriented, extra-occupational studies and the further training of managers for companies and institutions through the creation of an institute o… [+] f postgraduate education in the Linz area. In fact, what began in 1989 as the innovative and courageous “Linz Management Academy” project has developed into one of the most respected institutions in Central Europe. MILESTONES IN THE HISTORY OF THE LIMAK AUSTRIAN BUSINESS SCHOOL Over the years, the LIMAK has both established an exclusive network with carefully selected, leading international universities such as the Richard Ivey Business School in Canada and the Tsinghua University Beijing in China, and steadily expanded its international faculty. Today, the LIMAK stands out due to a comprehensive portfolio, which begins with basic management principles and specialized short programs (IN.TENSIVE certificate courses), and extends to a range of MBA programs (Management MBA and Executive MBA) and specific company training (LIMAK IN.SPIRE management development courses). The target groups are found well beyond the borders of Upper Austria and Austria and include prospective students from the German-speaking region, as well as Austria’s neighboring countries in Central and Eastern Europe. History 2013 The LIMAK’s newly designed and further developed portfolio is launched in spring. Apart from the Global Executive MBA, this includes seven, specialist management MBAs for a wide variety of branches and assignment areas. 2009 The LIMAK Johannes Kepler University Business School expands its activities. Together with the Johannes Kepler University Linz (JKU) and the Fachhochschulen Oberösterreich (FH), a new institution is founded, which operates under the LIMAK Austrian Business School brand name. The three organizations thus concentrate their capabilities. 2008 The LIMAK creates a new and integrated approach to customized management development (LIMAK IN.SPIRE), which is used successfully in LIMAK projects with companies. 2007 The LIMAK Johannes Kepler University Business School develops an entirely new executive MBA program, which is oriented towards multinationals in the B2B area and is thus unique in the German-speaking region. 2005 The LIMAK and the Johannes Kepler University grow closer together. The LIMAK is now officially named the “Johannes Kepler University Business School”. 2003 The LIMAK prepares the first corporate executive MBA program for a leading Austrian company consortium. 1990 The first general management program in the region is launched and only a few years later, an initial, high-level partnership is formed with a US university (Emory University/Goizueta Business School). In the mid-1990s, LIMAK introduces the first innovation management program in the German-speaking region and close cooperation in the MBA area follows with the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto.

WELCOME TO THE SALZBURG CENTRE OF EUROPEAN UNION STUDIES The Salzburg Centre of European Union Studies (SCEUS) is an enterprise geared towards research as much as towards education of a new generation of academics. The creation of a priority programme in European Union Studies was particularly propitious at this time given a series of developments. The European Union has become the crucial factor in the constitution of Europe's political and socio-economic order.… [+] It represents a unique peace project that has succeeded in integrating a multitude of former opponents and enemies into one new community of law. Yet, the general success story of European integration has repeatedly shown signs of stalemate and rupture. After the rejection of the Constitutional Treaty in 2005 and the difficult ratification process of the Treaty of Lisbon offering new instruments of decision-making the EU incurred a financial and economic crisis that arguably calls for greater leadership and supranational economic governance. SCEUS in its research tackles questions of the institutional set-up and the economic governance of the European Union, as well as broader social aspects of European integration and the role of the European Union as global actor. An important objective of SCEUS is to link research and teaching in several ways: The University of Salzburg has launched a new Master Programme in October 2005 titled European Union Studies. It is mainly concerned with law, economics and political science and flanked by sociology, history and communications. Beginning in 2008, the University has also established a three years Doctoral Programme in European Union Studies, which is financed by the Swiss Humer foundation. The Master as well as the Doctoral Programme profit from a Fellowship Programme conceived to invite outstanding scholars from other international institutions to spend research time at SCEUS. In August 2008 the Centre has been awarded a Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence. SCEUS is located at the Edmundsburg (Haus für Europa), a historic building right in the city centre of Salzburg. Horizon 2020 - The Choice for Europe since Maastricht Since July 1st, 2015 SCEUS coordinates the 4-year Horizon 2020 research project "The Choice for Europe since Maastricht". Here you can find detailed information on objectives, the research team, the consortium and results.

Welcome to the International Anti-Corruption Academy The International Anti-Corruption Academy (IACA) is an international organization based in Laxenburg, Austria. It is the first global institution of its kind, dedicated to overcoming current shortcomings in knowledge and practice in the field of anti-corruption and seeking to empower professionals for the challenges of tomorrow. The Academy offers standardized and tailor-made trainings, academic degree programmes,… [+] opportunities for dialogue and networking, and anti-corruption think-tank and benchmarking activities. It provides a new, holistic approach to anti-corruption education and research, delivers and facilitates anti-corruption training for practitioners from all sectors of society, and provides technical support and assistance to a wide variety of stakeholders. International cooperation, the sharing of knowledge and experiences, and mutual support are fundamental aspects of IACA’s mandate. The organization was initiated by INTERPOL, the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), the European Anti-Fraud Office (OLAF), the Republic of Austria, and other stakeholders. It became an international organization on 8 March 2011 and currently has a constituency of 71 Parties, including three international organizations. IACA is an observer to the UN General Assembly, GRECO, ECOSOC, and the International Organization for Migration (IOM), and has explicitly been welcomed by an array of international resolutions. IACA observes geographical and cultural diversity and seeks broad partnerships with public and private sector institutions, international and non-governmental organizations, and civil society. It works together with these partners to co-organize anti-corruption trainings, and participates in other international events as a co-sponsor or expertise provider. In addition, IACA’s Dean, faculty members, and senior representatives regularly (guest) lecture and contribute to international anti-corruption consultations and working groups, advisory boards, conferences, and meetings. In providing anti-corruption education and research, IACA draws on an unwavering drive towards excellence, a spirit of innovation, and a commitment to rendering itself accessible to individuals from all over the globe. Our Approach Anti-corruption education offered in recent decades has been ad-hoc at best, often lacking specialization and a comprehensive framework. It has suffered from educational particularism and in some instances even separatism, thus providing limited results in the long-run. In response to these shortcomings, IACA’s holistic approach was designed. An approach which is international in catering to various corners of the globe and observing regional diversity; inter-disciplinary in ensuring that every thematic aspect of corruption, academic and practical, is taken into account; inter-sectoral in linking practitioners with researchers, the public sector with the private sector, academics with civil society; integrative, in providing knowledge and hands-on tools applicable to different parts of the world; and sustainable, in offering lasting solutions. For anti-corruption work to be effective, practitioners need to step out of their area of specialization to truly understand the intertwined manner in which this menace manifests itself, and draw on the knowledge of other fields as well as that of their diverse peers. For a thorough anti-corruption strategy in any system, society or enterprise, various aspects have to be taken into account, cross-sectorial policies evaluated and international and country-specific methods scrutinized. Our Mission Our principal mission is to deliver and facilitate anti-corruption education and training for professionals and practitioners from all sectors. We provide research and platforms for dialogue and networking, which in bringing together field specialists allow for the development of grounded, sustainable strategies and guidelines. Our holistic curricula address a wide range of disciplines and cater to various regions of the world. Furthermore, we advance an understanding of the cross-cutting and devastating nature of corruption and thus call for a broader contextualization. We encourage the social responsibility of all sectors and a change of attitudes in this regard. We are strongly committed to international cooperation, direct dialogue and broad partnerships as a means for expertise exchange and greater solidarity in the fight against corruption. Our alumni network provides for a continuous sharing of experiences and best practices, mutual technical assistance and the latest know-how. We perceive our alumni as ambassadors and as part of a growing global anti-corruption alliance. Our Vision We view an unwavering No! to corruption as a basic right for all our societies. Our vision is, therefore, to substantially contribute to the global fight against corruption and become the leading educational institution in promulgating it. We are an international, innovative and globally renowned centre of excellence, which empowers professionals. We advance the goals of the United Nations Convention against Corruption, promote the rule of law, and provide support and technical assistance for states, organizations, corporations, and other stakeholders. As corruption knows no borders, affects all countries and sectors of society and cannot be remedied with traditional educational methods alone, our vision is to tackle this global phenomenon with a new and holistic approach. This approach is: International – observing regional diversity, servicing all corners of the globe, and foreseeing the broadest possible outreach Inter-disciplinary – providing know-how and expertise from various academic and non-academic fields Inter-sectoral – catering to all sectors of society Integrative – bridging the gap between theory and practice by offering theoretical and practical knowledge and tools Sustainable – striving towards long-term and long-lasting solutions and services Our Values Our values reflect our practices. We hold integrity, credibility, accountability, transparency, ethical values, and merit-based systems in highest regard. Impartiality and maintaining an unbiased position are also our core values. All our work shall be driven by excellence. We value the relationships we have developed with our students, staff and stakeholders. We strive to ensure geographical diversity. Our values conform to the major international anti-corruption instruments and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. We are loyal to these values, institutionally and personally, and committedly take over the responsibility of adhering to them.

External certification or accreditation is also an indication of the academic weight of the institution and makes its awareness of quality assurance and the need for ongoing optimisation transparent to the world outside as well. Currently, selected programs of the Continuing Education Center are accredited by FIBAA ("Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation") ASIIN ("Akkreditierungsagentur für Studiengänge der Ingenieurwissenschaften, der Informatik, der Naturwissenschaften und der Mathematik e.V.) RICS ("Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors") and CEPI ("European Council of Real Estate Professions") QUESTE-SI ("Quality System of Science and Technology Universities for Sustainable Industry")

Triple accreditation as a hallmark of excellent quality in higher education Attaining a place as one of the world’s top business and economics universities has always been a high priority at WU. With its prestigious triple international accreditation, WU has achieved this goal. Only 73 universities worldwide can claim triple accreditation by EQUIS, AACSB, and AMBA, the three most well-respected accreditation agencies. WU is one of only two universities in the German-speaking world to belong to this exclusive group of schools. In the summer of 2015, WU became the first Austrian university to be granted a five-year accreditation from AACSB International (The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business). This accreditation also brings tangible benefits for WU students: They receive a degree that is held in high regard internationally, which improves their standing in the job market. AACSB International was founded in the US in 1916. It provides accreditation for institutions of higher education and the programs they offer. Based on each school’s own mission statement, AACSB evaluates the university’s program management activities, the qualifications of its faculty, its research output, and its students’ educational and career prospects. WU has been EQUIS (European Quality Improvement System) accredited since 2007. EQUIS was established in 1998 as part of the European Foundation for Management Development, an organization dedicated to supporting research and teaching in the fields of economics and business. After its initial accreditation in 2007, WU was awarded the maximum five-year re-accreditation in 2013. To fulfill EQUIS’ high quality standards, WU is subject to regular, comprehensive reviews. Strategic development, internationalization, connections to the business community, and quality management are particularly important criteria in this process. All of the WU Executive Academy’s MBA programs are AMBA accredited, meaning that they meet the highest international standards. AMBA (The Association of MBAs), founded in London in 1967, is a quality assurance seal awarded to selected postgraduate programs around the world. To fulfill the association’s exacting criteria, programs must be able to demonstrate top quality and international compatibility. Financial Times Ranking WU’s degree program in International Management/CEMS came in at an excellent 8th place in the 2016 Masters in Management Ranking issued by the Financial Times. This ranking result puts WU in the same league as prestigious institutions like the London Business School, ESADE Business School, and Bocconi University. International networks WU’s network of over 240 partner universities is one of the largest such networks worldwide. As one of the leading business universities in the German-speaking world, WU is also a member of well-known and respected associations like CEMS (The Global Alliance in Management Education), PIM (Partnership in International Management), GBSN (Global Business School Network), which aims to facilitate management education in developing countries, and THEMIS (International Legal Network of Excellence).
