A little about us

Established as a university in 1990, the University of Canberra has earned a reputation for producing some of the country’s most employable graduates. Our students are in high demand with employers across Australia and around the world.

We have a diverse community of more than 17,500 students, 2,500 staff and 78,000 alumni in over 105 countries.

Only 10 minutes from the Canberra CBD and just five minutes from Belconnen town centre, the Bruce campus is set on 120 hectares of picturesque native bushland.

Our campus lifestyle revolves around our coffee shops, restaurants, bars, lounges and lawns. There are a number of professional and social clubs and societies and sports teams to take part in, plus regular social events. We’re also the home of the ACT Brumbies, the WNBL Canberra Capitals and a host of professional and elite athletes.

Contextually informed by its location in the designed capital city of Canberra, the architecture program focuses on architecture and the city; exploring the ways in which architecture studio, history and theory, technology and sustainability, and digital production and communication methods come together in the analysis and production of urban built form.

If your career goal is to become an architect, this is the first of two degrees needed to achieve professional registration, with the second being the Master of Architecture. If you’re keen to become an accomplished professional in the building industry, the Bachelor of Building and Construction Management can equip you with the necessary skills to become a confident leader. Learn management and supervision techniques while developing detailed knowledge of building processes and materials. In your final year you can choose either an honours or professional focus path:

Honours: If you’re a high performing student (with a minimum grade point average for 5.0), you can choose to undertake an honours project instead of electives in the final two semesters of the course.
