Introduction
Brief Introduction
The 3½-year full-degree programme is taught in English. The Mechanical Engineer creates ideas, develops and designs new products – a process which requires both creative skills and engineering skills. Knowledge of social and economic conditions, as well as work-related and environmental conditions, is also essential. This programme takes place at Campus Horsens.
Content and Structure
Mechanical Engineering is a seven-semester programme which is professionally oriented and structured so that, in the course of the programme, you will work with project themes in close cooperation with companies within the fields of industry, automation, energy, and environment.
During the 5th semester of this programme, you will also have the opportunity to gain practical experience through a work placement period, which involves working for an international company in Denmark or abroad.
On the 6th semester, you will choose a specialization while the final 7th semester will focus on the Bachelor project.
Specialisations
As a Mechanical Engineering student, you may choose between three areas of specialization:
Innovation and Product Design
The ability to be innovative and to convert this into progressive results is the key to the future of any company. You will work with the development of new products, marketing, economy, design, organization, management and also with the latest technologies in 3D CAD design, modelling, and prototyping.
Intelligent Mechanics
New technologies and new navigation systems make it possible to develop self-propelled mine searchers and driverless vehicles etc. Developing intelligent products and systems is about integration between software, system development, and machine techniques. You will work with the latest technologies, robots, satellite communication, etc.
Sustainable Energy
Development of the future sustainable energy systems is about energy from the sun, the wind and the CO2 neutral fuels like straw and wood. You will work with basic energy technique, energy saving, the design of energy systems and renewable technologies such as wind turbines, solar heat, solar power, biomass, heat pump and storage of energy, etc.
Admission Requirements
To be admitted to the Mechanical Engineering program, applicants need to have upper secondary school examination certificates and diplomas that correspond to a Danish entrance exam and to have certain subjects at certain levels.
Important
In addition to your secondary school diploma, you must document your mathematics level by providing a translated version of the syllabus of your secondary school advanced level mathematics course.
