Introduction
Good financial decision-making is key to the success of any business. With this financial management degree, you'll gain the knowledge and skills to plan, organise and control business finances. You'll also explore other key business functions such as marketing, managing people and operational management, giving you an understanding of how finance affects and underpins a whole business.
As the course progresses, you'll be able to focus on your interests through optional modules. You can explore data and analytics, accounting or financial systems in more detail, depending on what kind of role you'd like when you graduate.
Graduates of this course have gone on to be finance managers in business, accountants, or work in financial services.

Accreditation
This course is accredited by the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA). This means that you won't have to take some of the CIMA exams if you want to be CIMA certified after you graduate. You'll have completed part of your professional qualification by doing this degree. After your second year, you’ll get the opportunity to take an optional placement year, working in an organisation to gain valuable experience and put your skills to work.
You’ll get mentoring and support throughout your placement. We’ll help you find a placement that supports your interests and workplace ambitions. Many students go on to work for their placement employer after the course.

You can boost your employability by taking an optional paid placement year between years 2 and 3 of your degree.

The average salary for a 12-month paid placement is £16,500. It could be more or less than this amount depending on your placement. You'll only pay a small percentage of your tuition fee for this year.
