Introduction
Our BMus-Digital Audio Arts program is theoretically grounded and practically focused, with in-depth training developed and delivered in real-world professional settings. You'll have access to outstanding facilities such as Studio One, our world-class recording studio. Studies are further enhanced through presentations by experts and visiting artists from a variety of music industry fields and creative disciplines.
You'll build a strong foundation in music theory, history, composition, and performance exploring topics including audio engineering, music production, electronics and programming for musical applications, interactive music performance, and digital composition for media.

As you are exposed to music history, theory, and composition, you will also have opportunities to:
- Learn how to record and mix in the studio for stereo, binaural and surround sound
- Develop professional connections and increase your potential to work in a competitive field by taking specialized courses such as Tonmeister: Classical Music Recording, Applied Research in Digital Audio Arts, Portfolio and Music Industry, and courses with technical ear training and music production
- Learn how to use a variety of DAWs, audio effects, samplers, and synthesis plug-ins
- Participate in public performances of creative work and get involved with our music ensembles
- Attend lectures and workshops from leading industry specialists
- Collaborate with students and faculty in fine arts and other disciplines on university film and animation projects, dance, theatre or performance art installations, and gain real-world research experiences
- Discover your creative voice as you create soundscapes for visual media, design sounds for theatre and video games, or craft sonic environments to enhance emotions. Explore the possibilities for creativity through electroacoustic composition, sound design and recording, while training your ear
Work-Integrated Learning
You have full access to co-operative education, international exchanges, independent and applied studies as well as volunteer opportunities. uLethbridge is the only university in Alberta to offer cooperative education to all majors, at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
Participate and get involved in a dynamic season of performances, visiting performers and workshops, internship opportunities, recording and producing contracts, professional certification, and competitions from local to international levels.

We work hard to offset the cost of tuition with scholarships and paid work-integrated learning opportunities for students.
We have made it as simple as possible for you to apply for scholarships and awards. By completing both our general awards application and our undergraduate awards application online, you have access to approximately 90% of the available awards at ULethbridge!
$1.09 million was distributed to incoming new high school and transfer students through the Alberta Scholarship Program, ULethbridge awards, and athletic awards. These award recipients received over $1,000 ($1,062) on average.
