Introduction
Bachelor study programme is single subject study. Toxicology and analysis of pollutants is focused on broad spectrum knowledge of natural sciences with emphasis on practical skills useful for applications in control laboratories. Main study topics are chemistry and toxicology. The chemical part prioritizes analytical chemistry that is based on knowledge of basic, inorganic, organic, bioorganic, physical chemistry and biochemistry. The toxicological part is based on anatomy and physiology of human, microbiology and molecular biology. The student is familiarized with basics of metabolism and toxic effects of inorganic/organic compounds or natural compounds on living organisms. The food safety subjects are optional and pointed towards food safety control. The chemical and toxicological subjects are complemented by informatics and English focused on natural sciences. The study is finished by the state exam in toxicological and analytical oriented topics and defense of a diploma thesis.
Applicant profile
A graduate from high school should have knowledge of chemistry at the high school level.
Entrance exam
Entrance examination in chemistry at the high school level of knowledge for all applicants consists of a written part. The written part consists of 20 items.
Absolvent profile
Graduated bachelor is an analytical chemist with advanced knowledge of toxicology and English. The graduate will be able to perform basic chemical laboratory operations, apply the basic theoretical and practical knowledge of chemistry, microbiology and toxicology, and master the acquisition and evaluation of experimental data and their subsequent interpretation in English. The content and focus of the bachelor program enable graduates to continue and deepen their knowledge in master studies related chemical and toxicological fields. The study is useful as a preparation for the study at a foreign university. Process for preparing graduate envisages the possibility of its immediate entry into practice. The graduate can found a wide range of applications under the supervision of an experienced professional in chemical and toxicological control laboratories across the state and the business sector, including healthcare, pharmaceutical and food industry.
