Introduction
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering
The world of technology is ever-changing, which shapes the way we engage with people and the environment. These evolving interactions between society and devices are what make the electrical engineering field dynamic, challenging, and exciting. The Electrical Engineering program at UE introduces students to this complex field while inspiring lifelong curiosity and learning.
The first two years of the program provide a firm foundation in mathematics, natural science, basic engineering analysis, and design. Students also receive much technical instruction in electric circuit analysis, C++ programming language, computer-aided simulation, and logical design of digital circuits. The program incorporates several laboratories in classes to emphasize the use of computers and basic instrumentation common to the profession.
The second half of the program is very project-oriented to prepare students for future careers. Students are assigned open-ended projects that require invention and design to meet specifications. Senior students choose their own teams to take on these projects, and professors provide one-on-one support throughout.
The Electrical Engineering program is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET, Inc.
