Introduction

Arabic Studies focuses on the Arabic language, literature, culture, history, geography, politics, and visual arts. Includes instruction in philology; Classical Arabic; Modern Standard Arabic; dialects; and applications to business, science/technology, and other settings.

Studying Arabic Studies at the University of Cincinnati prepares students for a wide range of careers all across the globe. In the bachelor’s program, students acquire effective skills in developing an interdisciplinary cultural and social approach to the field and an ability to combine an intersectional theoretical approach with an applied research focus. UC also offers a minor and certificate, which is a perfect complement to any major and is designed to attract students who seek intensive studies on the diverse cultures of the Arabic people.
