Introduction
The University of Forestry attaches particular importance to its high practical relevance, which it ensures through the use of numerous lecturers, through its integrated practical semester and through the teaching area on site.
During the entire course, a large part of the courses take place in the form of excursions, practical exercises as well as project and group work. In addition to classic “practical subjects” such as silviculture, cutting planning and log sorting, the lecturers often try to establish a practical relevance in other lectures.
The 2500 hectare teaching area right in front of the front door offers ideal practice opportunities for this. In the first two semesters, the basics for the wide-ranging forestry degree are taught. In addition to the natural and social science, technical and methodological basics, great importance is attached to the acquisition of key qualifications.
