Degree in Cultural Management (face-to-face and blended) Universidade Santiago de Compostela
The main objective of the Degree in Cultural Management is to train professionals who will carry out their activity in the field of culture management, either at the service of public or private institutions or by directing their activity towards the business world.
The training itinerary of this Degree, with a clear professional orientation, combines subjects from various areas of the human and social sciences, as well as others of an instrumental nature. Together, these subjects provide the required training for a cultural manager in fields as diverse as the economy of culture, cultural policies, cultural marketing and communication, cultural projects, heritage and anthropology, sociology, tourism. cultural and sustainable development, the digitization of heritage, ICT, the culture and heritage of Galicia, the history of art, the audiovisual and publishing sectors, sponsorship and patronage, the legislation on heritage, literature or the performing arts.
Mobility and practices
The mobility of the students of the degree is regulated through the “Regulation of interuniversity exchanges”. The Foreign Relations Service manages both national (SICUE), European (ERASMUS +) and non-EU exchange programs (through different bilateral agreements).
The study plan for the Degree in Cultural Management includes the compulsory completion of external internships in the first semester of the last year with an extension of 6 ECTS. The main objective is to offer the student the opportunity to immerse himself in the professional world and, likewise, to apply in an integrated way and consolidate the set of skills and learning that he has worked on throughout the training itinerary.
The external internships carried out by the students of the Degree in Cultural Management may be face-to-face, blended or online. On-site practices are defined as those in which 100% of the student's work hours are carried out in the center where the company or institution in which they are trained is physically located. Those practices in which there is an initial face-to-face period that does not exceed 40% of the total hours of completion of the practices, and in which the rest can be carried out remotely by the student, will be blended. Those for which it is foreseen that they can be carried out completely telematically by the person in training will be online.
People who take the Degree in Cultural Management in face-to-face modality will carry out the practices in face-to-face modality, except in exceptional cases duly assessed by the competent bodies or collective emergency circumstances. Students who take the Degree in Cultural Management in a blended mode will have the following possibilities:
- Carry out the internship in face-to-face mode, either using an agreement already signed by the University for the internship of the Degree, or promoting autonomously the signing of an agreement with an institution or company.
- Carry out the internship in a blended or online modality, either based on an agreement of those already signed by the University for the internship of the Degree and that expressly contains the mention of these modalities as preferred or as possible (in this second case, it will be consulted previously to the company or institution), either autonomously promoting the signing of an agreement with an institution or company.
End of Degree Project
The Final Degree Project will consist of the elaboration of an original academic work in which the knowledge, capacities, competences and abilities acquired during the studies carried out in the undergraduate degree are integrated and developed and will include, at a minimum, search and review tasks bibliography, reading and integration of information, preparation of relevant results, writing, presentation and defense.
