About the course
The Civil Engineering Course is a course with a modern pedagogical project that contemplates the modernization of the profession, fostered mainly by the increasing use of computers, the development of new materials and technologies, the adoption of new methods of analysis, the concern with environmental issues and by the increasing presence of civil engineers in planning, administration and management activities. The course seeks to insert a Civil Engineer in the job market with skills and competencies that make him able to design building structures in general, bridges and viaducts, dams, industrial sheds, sanitation works, irrigation, drainage, highways, ports, airports. It can also act in the planning and organization of environmental systems, water resources and transport.
Today's Professional
The professional is responsible for planning, designing, managing, supervising and inspecting construction activities. But the work is not restricted to buildings. Activities include designing and managing transport systems, building drainage channels and water distribution, surveying soil and rock conditions as materials needed for civil construction, controlling environmental impact and promoting actions to preserve the environment, among others. . In addition, the civil engineer is increasingly absorbed by the market to work in the industry and in the area of information technology.
