WHY CHOOSE THE BACHELOR’S DEGREE IN BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION AND MANAGEMENT
CEU is a prestigious educational institution in Spain with a long-standing and renowned tradition in university education. It is characterized by its constant pursuit of academic excellence and rigor, seeking to develop responsible professionals committed to society. There are numerous reasons to study at CEU, including:
- Its highly qualified faculty, with extensive teaching experience (more than 15 years on average), optimum levels of engagement and commitment to their educational responsibility. The permanent teaching staff on the degree are complemented by professionals from different fields of economic activity who provide a more practical and professional approach to learning.
- Advanced teaching methodology: Since its origins, and long before the creation of the European Higher Education Area, CEU has been aware of the need to train professionals to a high caliber, with solid economic knowledge and specific attitudes and skills necessary to get ahead in the professional world. With this in mind, it has always strived for innovation in teaching, for the incorporation of information and communication technology into curricula, for the use of a continuous assessment system (which requires the student to work on a day-to-day basis, allowing for gradual and longer-lasting learning) and for practical-oriented training. The small size of the groups without a doubt facilitates the use of active and participatory teaching methods, which ultimately fosters and consolidates our students’ learning.
- Small groups that enable thorough monitoring of our students’ learning process, in turn forging a close relationship between professors and students.
- The tutorial work has been a distinguishing mark of our university’s identity from day one. From the moment they begin their studies, every student on the degree is assigned a tutor who provides guidance on their stay at the University, thus allowing them to obtain the maximum possible performance from their learning process. In addition, professors have an extensive tutoring timetable to resolve any queries that students may have concerning their subject, as well as to assist and guide them in completing the different assignments, case studies, etc.
- The internationalization and internship programs are key learning components at CEU. Aware of economic globalization, the School offers the possibility of studying the degree entirely in English and encourages students to complete part of their studies at a foreign university. The more than eighty Business Administration and Management agreements and the two Bilingual Programs with Boston University and the University of Chicago are clear examples of our commitment to the internationalization of our students. In response to the importance of initial contact with the professional world, the degree includes 12 credits of external internships (curricular) among the compulsory subjects to be taken by students. Nevertheless, students wishing to do so can also complete additional extra-curricular internships during their time at the University, acquiring experience and facilitating their entry into the labor market.
- The entry of our students into the labor market. The results of a survey on labor market entry conducted recently indicate that the entry rate of students on our Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and Management is 95%. 85% of those surveyed believe that their job is closely related to their studies. 95% believe that the completed studies serve them in their jobs. Graduates regard the practical training and knowledge acquired as the strong points of the degree. The Everis Foundation has very recently drawn up a “University-Company Ranking” report with the aim of identifying the top 10 Spanish higher education institutions (both public and private) for different areas of knowledge by quantitatively analyzing the opinions of employers. It is about identifying the balance between what university students learn and what companies demand. The Universidad CEU San Pablo, in fifth place for Business Administration and Management, obtains the best scores in three competences: Honesty and ethical commitment, ability to learn and adapt to change, and orientation to results, the three most important competences for employers.
- Extra-curricular activities: the School organizes a wide range of additional activities (Current Economic and Business Program, Professionals in the Classrooms, Employment Forum, Career Opportunities, job-searching techniques, visits to companies, participation in different university competitions launched by companies, etc.) that enable our students to liaise with professionals in the business world and help guide their future professional development, while they simultaneously complete the degree.
- Wide range of academic options: students can study the Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and Management in Spanish and/or English, and anyone wishing to do so can complement their studies by taking part in our Bilingual Programs with Boston University and the University of Chicago, simultaneously completing the degree with any of the following: Marketing and Commercial Management, Economics, Law, Pharmacy or Engineering and Information Systems, as well as achieving greater specialization in a specific area, completing one of the postgraduate programs at the University.
- Bloomberg: the School has a classroom equipped with 8 Bloomberg terminals, one of the main economic and financial information applications worldwide, used by operators and professional analysts of financial markets, making it an essential tool for all students who wish to work in the financial field in the future. Advanced knowledge of the software undoubtedly adds great value to our students’ résumés.
- StartinCEU: a project that is organized and managed by the students in the School, seeks to encourage entrepreneurship and business development in students whilst they complete their university degree. It is ultimately a place to strengthen relations between entrepreneurs and students, providing them with insight into the world of business, thanks to the participation of a large number of collaborating companies, and offering them the training and advice necessary to launch their business initiative.
