Introduction
DIKOM UGM's undergraduate program has been certified nationally by the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT) of The Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education, and internationally by the ASEAN University Network (AUN). In the era of New Media, the Department of Communication Science pledges to take on the challenge of providing the benefit to the public through ‘Crafting Well-Informed Society’. The curriculum of the Undergraduate Program in Communication is designed to fit the goal of providing the students with a clear field of interest/career orientation toward a certain field of communication and media industry. IUP DIKOM UGM consists of a four-year undergraduate program in the areas of Media Studies and Strategic Communication. This program also offers a wide variety of learning approaches and innovations including full delivery in English, student-centered and research-based learning, experiential learning, international exposure activities, and career development advisory.

Curriculum
The curriculum of the International Undergraduate Program in Communication Science 2020 is designed as a development or revision of the previous 2019 curriculum. This curriculum is designed to be implemented from the 1st semester of 2020/2021 for at least 1 year until the curriculum evaluation is carried out.
This curriculum is structured by considering the development of communication science at the local, national and international levels. As for studying these developments, the Curriculum Team has done some work, starting from aligning this curriculum with the Indonesian National Qualifications Framework (KKNI) to benchmarking the curricula of other communication study programs at the local, national, and international levels.
This curriculum is also prepared to consider the dynamic needs of Communication Studies fresh graduates, within state institutions, social organizations, and industries. An understanding of this condition is obtained by conducting studies on graduates and graduate users in various related fields.
In addition, this curriculum is also prepared by considering the prospective students’ profiles (interests, characters, demographics, etc.) and aligning them with the Department’s vision, "Crafting Well Informed Society". With this curriculum, the International Undergraduate Program in Communication Science will produce graduates who are capable of critical thinking and qualified in the practical/ professional world.
Year 1
Semester I: Being a Social, Political, and Communication Student
In this semester, students gain basic knowledge to become students of communication science, especially as part of the social and political sciences. Students are expected to master the basic concepts of communication science and be able to carry out basic practices such as writing and public speaking.

Year 4
In the final semesters, students will apply their theoretical and practical knowledge to individual research work (conventional thesis or work) according to their field of interest. Under the direction of their supervisor, students are expected to be able to produce data and analysis that are useful in the development of communication science.

Program Outcome
The objective is to produce graduates whose critical, creative, ethical and international reputed that allow them to be global communication practitioners in the information society era. The detailed objectives are explained as follows:
- To create virtuous graduates who are able to develop and implement human values relevant to the educational vision, mission, and objectives of Universitas Gadjah Mada as part of the global community
