Introduction
UC3M is the first Spanish university to offer a Degree in Statistics and Business, a modern and competitive degree that offers very attractive professional opportunities. This degree aims to train professionals with quantitative skills, capable of transforming data into useful information for decision-making in companies and institutions, in sectors such as finance, banking, insurance, or business consulting.
To achieve this, we have created a statistics degree with a business orientation and an important applied nature that encourages the learning of computer science and takes special care of mathematical training. Likewise, group work and aspects of computing and information processing are promoted with the use of the most advanced software.
Thanks to internship programs with companies and institutions in the sector, students have the possibility of acquiring greater knowledge of the professional field.

Employability and professional internships
UC3M has agreements with over 3000 companies and institutions in which students can undertake internships and access job openings.

The Erasmus program allows UC3M undergraduate and postgraduate students to study one or several semesters in one of the European universities with which UC3M has agreements or to carry out an Erasmus Placement, that is, an internship stay. in some companies in the EU. These exchanges have financial support thanks to the Erasmus Scholarships provided by the EU and the Spanish Ministry of Education.
For its part, the Non-European Mobility program allows UC3M undergraduate students to study one or more semesters at one of the international universities with which the university has agreements. It also has financial support provided by Banco Santander and UC3M.

Graduates of the Degree in Statistics and Business must have extensive training that covers topics related to the knowledge and application of statistical theory and business management to a basic level, also having a good mathematical and computer base that provides them with a profile with complete training in topics related to Statistics and specialized training in its application within the business environment.
With this profile, they must be qualified to successfully start a professional activity in different activities with important quantitative content within business management or finance in companies and organizations, such as tasks related to science actuarial, insurance management, banking, risk assessment, stock market analysis, investment portfolio management, operations management, financial analysis, market research, politics; optimal pricing ethics, etc.
Additionally, your preparation will be Very suitable for carrying out all types of activities in the area of advice and consulting, where to date many of our students have had notable professional success, despite having less extensive training. and adapted to the one that has been made in this new grade. The combination of both business and technical training that is proposed also qualifies graduates for direction and project management tasks within the previous areas.
