Introduction
This undergraduate degree in psychology provides a general understanding of the scientific mechanisms that underlie our thoughts, emotions and behaviors, and their relation to one's physical state, mental state, and the external environment. Students are provided with excellent skills in analytical thinking, research processes, and problem-solving. At the end of the program, students will develop the abilities to work well as part of a team and as independent thinkers by optimizing human development, abilities, and quality of life.
Entry Requirements
Students must meet the following requirements in order to be considered for entry to Bachelor of Social Science (Honours) in Psychology in TAR UC:
• A-Level – Passes in 2 relevant subjects (O Leve: Grade C in Mathematics and 1 Science Subject AND Pass in English)
• TAR UC Qualification – Foundation in Arts (Track A) OR Relevant Diploma
• Other – Other qualifications recognized by the Malaysia Government and meet TAR UC minimum entry requirements
IELTS Requirement: Band 5.0
Faculty Academy Facilities
Psychology Lab
Psychology Lab at TAR UC (KL Main campus) facilitates teaching and learning of various aspects of psychology. The lab is used by Bachelor of Social Science (Honours) in Psychology and Master of Arts (Psychology) programs. It is equipped with 25 computers with SPSS software and internet access to enable psychology students to do online psychological testing and statistical analyses. A wide range of psychological test instruments are also available for teaching, learning, and psychological research purposes.
Counseling Labs
The counseling laboratories facilitate the teaching of counseling-related courses such as Counselling Skills, Counselling Methods, and Techniques I & II for diploma level; and Counselling Skills & Methods, and Leadership Skills for bachelor level. It is equipped with recording devices such as Vivo camera, Compact audio video switcher, DVD Recorder, and wireless microphones. It provides facilities for lecturers and students to practice counseling skills and to play-back the recorded sessions on the big screen for the whole class to view and comment.
