Why Psychology?
For communities and organizations to thrive, people’s mental and emotional needs must be met in an intentional, methodological manner.
Advocacy for social, emotional, and mental well-being is happening in every sector and industry. There is growing recognition that neglecting people’s psychological needs has ripple effects in homes, schools, communities, and the workplace—and extends to the rest of the globe. As government and non-government organizations increase funding for wellness programs, the need for professionals in the helping professions is growing.
TWU’s BA in Psychology is an interdisciplinary blend of psychology, sociology, and human services coursework, while also allowing you to explore faith-informed perspectives. It gives you a theoretical foundation but, as a bonus, also includes practicum placements and an applied final project.
This combination of theory and practice will make your degree and learned skills highly marketable across a variety of careers. You can also use the degree for acceptance into counselling graduate schools, most of which now require that students have at least two years of experience in the field.
The BA in Psychology degree is convenient for working adults. It is delivered fully online because it’s your time, your place, your life.

Our BA in Psychology and BA in Social Sciences both consist of 62 sh, which means you can transfer in 60 credits. But if you have fewer transfer credits, we can come up with great solutions for you. Our academic advisors are ready to help.
How You'll Learn
You can complete the BA in Psychology online, one course at a time, which is incredible for such a comprehensive degree.
The courses are delivered asynchronously online in a six-week format, which means you can work at your own pace on your own time.
Each course offers weekly professional development Zoom sessions, so you can discuss how to apply what you’ve learned to solve real-world problems.
Because of our intentionally small class sizes, you’ll be able to ask your professors for guidance and special insights as you go along. You will also have all the academic resources and tools at your disposal through TWU Access. Finally, you will enjoy discussing, interacting, and networking with other like-minded adults as part of your coursework.
Program Outcome
Our current students and alumni work in industries ranging from business and health care to public service and education.
They have found that completing their degrees has allowed them to move up in their organization or prepare for a career change.
Students have said that the interdisciplinary nature of the program has made their studies highly applicable and given them greater confidence and a competitive edge in the job marketplace. The practicum component of the degree is a significant advantage when compared with other bachelor’s degrees that often don’t include any field experience.
Our professors support students’ individual interests and are keen to help students make meaningful connections between theory in the classroom and real-life scenarios they will encounter outside of the classroom. Professors make themselves personally available to each student to make sure all students can achieve their goals.
