This program combines the best of our chemistry department and our NCATE-accredited School of Education, giving you a strong and well-balanced foundation for success. This program not only expands your knowledge of the field, it provides opportunities for hands-on research experience and teaching opportunities.
You’ll have the opportunity to work one-on-one with a professor as you complete original research projects using modern instrumentation in our newly renovated facilities. From catalyst development to computational chemistry, the research you complete can be tailored to match your interests, equipping you for your future goals. Teacher candidates with a Chemistry Education major will be able to:
