The Department of Construction Science maintains a close partnership with the construction industry through its Construction Industry Advisory Council (CIAC). In addition to providing a significant number of scholarships, sponsoring service projects, mentorships, speaking in classes, and offering part-time and full-time employment, the CIAC also sponsors a variety of social events: mixers, tailgating, cook-offs, sports, competitions, and field trips, among others. CSM student organizations are very active and have significant industry support. The UTSA four-year B.S. in CSM degree is accredited by the American Council for Construction Education (ACCE).
