Introduction

Our sociology and psychology degree explores society and the self by focusing on issues such as gender, identity, relationships and social inequalities.

The psychology element of our BSc Hons Sociology and Psychology degree will give you an understanding of the brain, behaviour and experience. The course includes studies of perception, memory emotion and the development of language. You will explore the way society works through sociological themes such as social justice, gender, crime and deviance, and ethnicity.

The two sides of the course are brought together with an exploration of the socio-psychological processes that shape our relationships with each other and society.

Our sociology and psychology graduates enter careers in areas such as youth and community work, welfare provision, charitable organisations and local and national government.
