Introduction

The diverse faculty of these programs offer expertise and excellence in teaching and researching the arts, cultures, histories, languages, literature, politics, and religions of these global communities, and the movement of people in the world resulting from migration, resettlement, conquest, and conflict.

Our students are deeply curious and committed to learning about the experiences of global communities from the personal to the communal and the political, how global forces are realized in and through local contexts, and the interconnections between global regions. In addition to taking courses exposing them to the lives of people in diverse international locations, they are dedicated to learning the languages of their chosen world regions in preparation for study abroad or international internships.
