Bachelor of Building Installations Technical University of Civil Engineering Bucharest
Higher education in the field of Civil Engineering was born in Romania in 1864 with the creation in Bucharest of the School of Bridges and Roads, Mines and Architecture. This was called, from 1888, National School of Bridges and Roads, being the first Technical University in Romania. The Technical University of Constructions of Bucharest (UTCB) is currently the only University in Romania with only civil engineering as a general specialty. UTCB is a State University, accredited by ARACIS (Romanian Agency for Quality in Higher Education - listed in EQAR) and by the Ministry of National Education of Romania (MEN) with '' High degree of confidence''.
The Faculty of Installations Engineering (FII) was born in 1949. By its profile, unique in Europe, this Faculty provides training for engineers specializing in the design, construction and operation of all the installations of a construction: comfort installations (heating, ventilation, air conditioning, sanitary facilities, lighting, etc.), security installations (anti-fire, anti-burglary, etc.), installations for the production and distribution of energy (thermal and cooling plants, renewable sources energy, heat distribution, electricity distribution, etc.) and automation and automatic management systems. This field covers the existing built environment, its rehabilitation and also the design and construction of the built environment of the future. The activity of the installation engineer is closely linked with the activity of architects and civil engineers. Today, the staff is trained by 112 teachers and 28 auxiliary staff who train 1,420 students in: license (2 "Installations for buildings" streams, one in Romanian and the other in French, and one "Installations for buildings" for the protection of the atmosphere ”), master's degree (4 streams: 1 in French, 'Energy efficiency of installations for buildings', master's degree jointly with the University of La Rochelle; 3 in Romanian:' Energy efficiency of installations for buildings', 'Energy, comfort and sustainable development', 'High-performance technologies for the protection of the urban environment') and doctorate (Doctorate in civil engineering and installations).
The training in French: 'Installations for buildings' began in 1994. Since then, 155 students have obtained the engineering diploma. The sector is accredited by ARACIS and MEN from Romania. In most cases, teachers in this field have followed advanced training, research internships, teaching internships, DEA, masters and / or doctorates in partner universities in the French-speaking world.
The training is based on three pillars: thermal, hydraulic and electrical (fundamental technical disciplines). On this basis, and on the study of Thermal Apparatus, Hydraulic Machines and Electrical Machines, from the third year, the learning of the specialty disciplines, that is to say the disciplines of 'systems of', is developed. installations for buildings: heating, ventilation, air conditioning and air conditioning, refrigerators and heat pumps, sanitary, fire-fighting, electrical, lighting, automation.
Each discipline has applications (projects). In the second part of the last semester, a practical internship is planned for the realization of the license project (in principle dedicated to the design of an installation system). In the first three years, practical internships carried out in companies are planned, with the possibility of hiring over determined periods.
The Diploma, The Skills and the Professional Career.
The diploma of the Romanian Public Higher Education obtained in the field “Installations for Constructions (Civil Engineering)” is officially recognized in all member countries of the EU. The skills obtained make it possible to work in the assembly of installations, in design (for systems of reduced complexity) and in the operation of installations in buildings. The in-depth knowledge of the operation of installation systems offers the possibility of evaluating existing systems (by technical inspection, by energy audit and certification and by functional diagnosis), to anticipate the behavior of buildings and their systems and also to carry out their efficient use.
With the bachelor's degree and in particular with the knowledge acquired, the installation engineer finds in the great majority of cases an adequate position in the engineering of installations (see the survey). The license is normally followed by the master's degree, which complements the skills of a full-fledged engineer.
