Universiti Sultan Azlan Shah Malaysia (USAS) was initially known as Kolej Islam Darul Ridzuan (KISDAR). It was established in 1999 by the Perak Islamic Religious Council and Malay Customs and registered with the Perak Islamic Religious Department under the School Control Enactment - Islamic Religious Schools 1996.
Introduction
Universiti Sultan Azlan Shah Malaysia (USAS) was initially known as Kolej Islam Darul Ridzuan (KISDAR). It was established in 1999 by the Perak Islamic Religious Council and Malay Customs and registered with the Perak Islamic Religious Department under the School Control Enactment - Islamic Religious Schools 1996. KISDAR became the Perak State Statutory Body through Kolej Islam Darul Ridzuan (Enactment No. 3 of 2000).
On 19 December 2013, His Royal Highness The Regent of Perak Darul Ridzuan Raja Dr Nazrin Shah Ibni Sultan Azlan Muhibbuddin Shah officiated the upgrading of KISDAR to The Sultan Azlan Shah Islamic University College (KUISAS)
On 10 June 2016, the Prime Minister, Y.A.B Dato' Seri Najib Tun Abdul Razak, officially announced. Kolej Universiti Islam Sultan Azlan Shah (KUISAS) was upgraded to a full university effective immediately and known as Universiti Sultan Azlan Shah Malaysia (USAS), which received annual grants from the Central Government.
