BA in Theatre

The theatre major at Southern Virginia University provides students with experience in theatre's creative and technical aspects, including acting, directing, playwriting, design, and technical theatre. The major seeks to awaken and enhance students’ creative abilities in performing, writing, and design and developing the skills needed to evaluate artistic works.

All theatre majors complete the common core and also choose either a Theatre or Technical Theatre emphasis within the major. The respective core and electives must then be completed for each emphasis in addition to the common core.
