Introduction

Students who want to forge a career in corporate law should seriously consider this double degree, offering experiential learning in business and a nationally-recognized legal qualification.

This five-year double degree provides you with the opportunity hit the ground running in the many areas of law relevant to Australian organizations – from industrial relations to corporate finance.

Graduates will receive a Bachelor of Laws degree as well as a Bachelor of Business degree – preparing themselves for a wide range of careers in legal practice and the private sector.

Career Opportunities

Graduates pursue career opportunities that combine knowledge of business and law; and those specific to each discipline.

For business: advertising, marketing, public relations, product management, management, international business, human resource management, investment, banking, accounting, and finance

For law: as barristers or solicitors; or in law-related areas in private, corporate or government organizations.

Professional Recognition

The Bachelor of Laws fulfills the academic requirements for admission to the legal profession. Professional admission authorities also require law graduates of all universities to complete practical legal training to practice as a lawyer.

Students who intend to practice law outside Australia should check with the relevant country’s admission body to confirm their practicing requirements.

See the Bachelor of Business for professional recognition.

Professional Placement

Bachelor of Laws students can undertake voluntary legal experience and professional placement with legal firms or offices, to complement their practical legal skills and become familiar with the issues facing working lawyers.

See the Bachelor of Business for professional placement.
