South-Eastern Finland University of Applied Sciences - Xamk - is a responsible institute of higher education focusing on wellbeing, technology and creative industries. Finnish educational system consistently ranking as one of the best in the world, and Xamk is known to be at the top of Universities of Applied Sciences in the country.
We offer individual learning tracks and develop digital environments and technical pedagogical solutions to enhance learning irrespective of time and place.
We offer 9 degree programmes in English – both Bachelor and Master level. Besides that we have a number of free open online studies and various micro-courses to choose from. The facilities and services at Xamk are highly valued by our international students.
There are campuses in four towns: Kotka, Kouvola, Mikkeli and Savonlinna. The range of services on campus is wide: restaurants, cafés, libraries, as well as services to promote studying and student well-being. The learning environments – classrooms, auditoriums, laboratories, workshops – are modern and comfortable.
Our skilled staff are able to constantly innovate and follow the trends of global development, combining them with close cooperation with local business.
We are currently Finland’s largest UAS in the field of research, development and innovation (RDI). There are over 250 ongoing projects annually to test and develop research for future needs.
Participation in RDI brings new dimensions to studies. Students can gain experience in real research projects, challenge themselves to work like professionals and learn to identify what development requires.
Finns are strong believers in education. The higher education system is one of the best with great international connections and low hierarchies.
International cooperation is an important part of our profile, with more than 350 partner educational institutions around the globe.

- Full-time studies leading to a bachelor-level degree last 3.5-4 years (210-240 ECTS).
Open UAS
Anyone interested in studying may take Open UAS courses, regardless of age and previous education. Open UAS studies do not lead to a degree but may be recognised as prior learning if you become a degree student in the same field of study. Students may choose individual courses or larger modules (study paths).

Admissions
You can apply to study for a master’s degree if you have a degree from a university of applied sciences or another higher education degree plus at least two years of work experience in the relevant field of study. Studies in a master-level degree programme take 2.5 years (90 ECTS).
