Materials science engineers are engaged in related advanced fields such as electronics, communications, aviation, energy, manufacturing, biopharmaceuticals, nanotechnology, and have extensive skills. Students in this major will be trained in physics, chemistry, and engineering. Through advanced science and technology, they will closely integrate what they have learned with the microstructure, properties, and performance of materials, and ultimately improve all aspects of our lives. In order to achieve this goal, materials science engineers need to be proficient in material production processes, improve and develop new materials.
