Introduction
Will your future involve finding electrical and electronic solutions for the energy transition, or designing the variable message signs above our motorways, an innovative electric motorcycle, and smart public transport access gates to make our transport systems easier to use? Or how about a self-piloting drone? With a higher education degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, the world is your oyster!
International
The field of engineering work has a very international orientation. Saxion has a worldwide network of partner universities, with active incoming and outgoing exchange programs. You will work alongside students of more than 25 other nationalities.
Electrical Engineering for Energy Transition (ET)
How do you make electrical energy available to people as sustainably as possible? This includes the smart use of wind turbines and solar farms as well as the range of electric cars or solutions in Industrial Automation topics.
During your study
In Electrical and Electronic Engineering you'll learn how to design microelectronics. This includes deploying printed circuit boards, chips, and batteries in devices you use every day. You will also familiarise yourself with sustainable energy, automation, and hardware and learn how to program hardware. The program offers you many practical modules and projects.
Possibilities after your study
As an Electronic Engineer, you can get a job anywhere you want, from small engineering companies to multinationals. With a diploma in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, the whole world is at your feet.
Admissions

We are proud to offer scholarships to talented international students who apply for a bachelor's or master's Program at Saxion University of Applied Sciences.
Saxion Scholarships Program
Over the years we developed several scholarships that are available for talented international bachelor and master students from outside the EU/EEA.
- Orange Tulip Scholarship Program (OTS)
- Orange Knowledge Program (OKP)
- MENA Scholarship Program (MSP)
- Holland Scholarship (HS)
Other Scholarships
Further information on how and where to apply for a scholarship is available at the nearest Royal Netherlands Embassy, or from the Dutch Education Organization NUFFIC.
Curriculum
Within the Short Degree Program, You Will Have to Follow One Year of Modules and Projects in A Specialization of Your Choice (EIE or ET). Besides the Basic Technical Knowledge, You Will Follow Modules in The Areas of Math, Analog and Digital Electronics, and Programming, You Will Work in Project Teams and Learn How To Go Through a Development Process. Learning to Work in Teams, Communicate, Present, Report, and Demonstrate Are Essential Elements Here and You Will Learn to Put the Acquired Knowledge Into Practice. The second Year Is Dependent on Your Background and Experience and Can Include an Internship Period a Multidisciplinary Project Semester and A Graduation Semester.
The First Year
Electrical and Electronics Engineering has two specializations:
- Electrical Information Engineering (EIE)
You will learn all about microelectronics and the link to the ‘real world’ with sensors. You will also learn techniques for making chips work properly, how to program chips, and about wireless communication.
- Electrical Engineering for Energy Transition (ET)
How do you make electrical energy available to people as sustainably as possible? This includes the smart use of wind turbines and solar farms as well as the range of electric cars or solutions in Industrial Automation topics.
