Program Outcome
This degree aims at a solid foundation in the areas of Physics and Engineering that allows the progression of studies to the Masters or professional activity that does not require skills of a 2nd cycle.
Areas of study include expansion of knowledge of Physics learned in Secondary Studies and introduction to modern Physics such as Quantum Mechanics, Atomic and Molecular Physics and Nuclear Physics among others. In the field of Engineering, students have contact with subjects of Engineering Physics, Electronics, Informatics and Mechanics, getting a broad and multidisciplinary base characteristic of the Physical Engineer.
In the 3rd year, students have an internship in a business or research environment within the Curriculum Profile of Nova School of Science & Tecnhology| FCT NOVA.

Career Opportunities
The Degree in Engineering Physics provides training that allows the continuation of studies for a 2nd cycle in the same or related area.
Since the Degree in Engineering Physics is a new course that results from the disintegration of the Integrated Masters in Engineering Physics, there is still no data on more frequent professional exits, but it is expected that they are similar to those of students who complete the two cycles in functions that the skills of the 2nd cycle are not necessary.
Graduate students in Engineering Physics who complete both cycles have no difficulty finding employment, the most common areas being those of
- R&D in academia and business
- Medical Physics
- Instrumentation
- Analytical techniques
- aerospace
- Energy
- Consultancy
