The B.A. in History program provides students with the skills to analyze and develop perspectives on the past, its cultures, ideas, and value systems. Possession of these skills allows students to better understand and appreciate the present state of affairs and future possibilities. History is a flexible major that allows students to choose among a variety of electives based on their interests.
Analyzing historical change rather than memorizing facts, students engage in the study of the historical development of a broad spectrum of human societies. History faculty members produce award-winning research and have been recognized by the University for their teaching excellence.
