Introduction
The other biggest trend in this 21st-century world is localism (the principle of specific areas) or regionalism (the principle of multiple areas) as opposed to globalism. The International Communications Department overcomes the barriers of cultural and political conflicts of countries with different languages, ethnic groups, religions, and social systems. They set their sights on “Multicultural Coexistence,” how to further coexistence and co-prosperity. The department studies the languages, society, and cultures of Europe and the cultural region of the EU centering around Germany. Furthermore, they work with international students studying Japanese and pursue the many possibilities and meaning of multicultural coexistence. Accordingly, the department aims to cultivate human resources who can be actively involved far and wide in international society.
