Introduction
Bachelor of Arts in Animation Production
The Animation Production Major offers a core education in animation creation and production, supplemented by a variety of hands-on courses in the art. As they progress in their studies, students are challenged not only to conceptualize shows, write scripts and create storyboards but also to plan and execute animation productions, a process in which they assume the roles of director, producer, camera person, sound engineer, editor, and animator. The courses are taught within the context of aesthetics, history, theory and personal expression by a professional faculty that includes specialists in animation and visiting experts in the field.
Career Opportunities
Animation Production majors have access to career opportunities in both regional and international entertainment media industries as animators, scriptwriters, producers, and directors, in addition to becoming media entrepreneurs. There are also opportunities in media research, policy development, and management. Animation Production majors can also pursue their graduate studies in Media and Communication, Mass Communication, Computer Graphic Design or Technology and New Media.
