The music industry today needs a new type of professional mdash;one who understands not only the music, but also the many aspects of business that are associated with its production. Our Music Business program equips students to manage the legal, financial, artistic, and ethical issues that face the contemporary music business professional.Music business is a field of study that focuses on the business side of the music industry, including the management, marketing, and distribution of music.
It involves the study of various aspects of the music industry, such as music publishing, artist management, concert promotion, and record label operations. The curriculum for a Music Business degree typically includes courses in music copyright law, music marketing, music publishing, music production, and music business management. Students may also have the opportunity to take courses in specialized areas such as music licensing, concert management, or artist development. In addition to coursework, students in a Music Business program may be required to participate in internships or other experiential learning opportunities to gain practical experience in the music industry.
