The prepares students to enter the increasing big data job market. Studying data analytics at Montreat will equip you to organize, interpret, and publish data in a wide variety of fields. Drawing upon a variety of disciplines, students will learn how computer programming, data management, analysis, and visualization tools can be utilized to interpret complex quantitative and qualitative data.Courses in the data analytics bachelor rsquo;s degree program focus on the fundamentals of data analytics, applying industry-accepted and emerging practices to use data to find effective, real-world solutions.
Our data analytics program will challenge you to creatively and critically think about data so you can interpret data and use it to help your future employer succeed in an increasingly data-driven marketplace.Data Analytics is the practice of using statistical and computational methods to extract insights and knowledge from data. It involves the collection, processing, analysis, interpretation, and presentation of data to support decision-making and gain insights into complex phenomena. The curriculum for a Data Analytics degree typically includes courses in statistics, data mining, machine learning, data visualization, and database management. Students may also have the opportunity to take courses in specialized areas such as data ethics, big data analytics, or predictive analytics.
In addition to coursework, students in a Data Analytics program may be required to participate in internships, research projects, or other experiential learning opportunities to gain practical experience in data analytics. They may also have the opportunity to participate in data analytics clubs or professional organizations on campus. Graduates of a Data Analytics program may pursue careers in a variety of fields, including business analytics, marketing analytics, healthcare analytics, or financial analytics. They may work in a variety of settings, including government agencies, non-profit organizations, or private corporations. Alternatively, they may choose to pursue advanced degrees in data analytics or related fields, such as a Master of Science in Data Science or a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Statistics.
