Introduction

The offers a strong foundation in the classical method. In each studio course, the elements and principles of visual art are approached through observation, interpretation, and response. Although formalism is taught and encouraged, it rsquo;s woven into the resulting artwork rather than standing alone as abstract method. Faculty members will help you integrate a frame for perception that can guide your process of decision-making and problem solving mdash;which are effective thinking skills for creating works of art or for other areas of your life.

A Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree with a minor is an undergraduate degree program that allows students to focus on a specific area of study while also gaining a broad liberal arts education. In a BA program with a minor, students typically choose a major field of study, such as English, psychology, or history, and also complete a minor in a related or complementary field. For example, a student majoring in English might choose to minor in creative writing or journalism.

The curriculum for a BA program with a minor typically includes general education courses in areas such as humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, and mathematics, as well as courses in the major and minor fields of study. In addition to coursework, students in a BA program with a minor may have the opportunity to participate in internships, research projects, or other experiential learning opportunities related to their major and minor fields of study. Graduates of a BA program with a minor may pursue careers in a variety of fields, depending on their major and minor areas of study. They may also choose to pursue advanced degrees in their chosen fields, or in related fields such as law or business. The broad liberal arts education provided by a BA program can also be valuable for careers that require critical thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills, such as in education, government, or nonprofit organizations.
