Career Opportunities
Nashville-Metro is home to many regional and national headquarters – Nissan, Bridgestone, HCA, Amazon, and Oracle. A recent Nashville Chamber of Commerce study reported that these headquarters collectively employ 1700 HRM professionals. Additionally, these companies recognize the value of SHRM credentials. A quick search online showed that there are 60 companies in the Nashville area that are hiring for HR right now, and the job postings list the PHR/SPHR certification as desirable. [Our students would be eligible for the SHRM-CP exam if they meet the requirements, which are seen as mostly equivalent to the PHR. The profession is slowly warming up to the SHRM certifications.]
