Introduction
Digitalisation has begun to change the way companies operate. The Industrial Internet of Things (iIoT), which is also known as Industry 4.0, has been elevating traditional processes to involve smart solutions, AI-powered automation, and other IoT technology in most businesses. This transformation created a great demand for digitally-skilled talents in Information Technology (IT) and related industries.
The Diploma in Information Technology programme is designed to equip students with broad-based knowledge and future-oriented skills such as Internet of Things (IoT), Cloud Computing, Cybersecurity and Information Security. These tech disruptive skills are highly sought after in many industries worldwide.
Upon completion of this programme, students can join the workforce, become technopreneurs or further their studies at our partner universities in various fields of specialisation such as IoT, Cybersecurity and Software Development.
Partners of MCKL
MCKL has partnered with multiple industry-leading experts to ensure students are able to obtain industrial training as part of their programme of study. Through our industry partners, students are given the opportunity to take on real-world projects which enable them to gain valuable insights and working experience in their respective fields. Students will also obtain digital literacy, specialised knowledge and work skills to be future-ready for Industrial Revolution 4.0.
Why MCKL
Specialise in the Internet of Things (IoT)
What is the Internet of Things and why study it? IoT is about connecting devices to “talk” through the internet via embedded devices to enable seamless communication between people, processes, and things. Students learn to design, operate and apply IoT in various industries to achieve automation and wireless control. Some of the industries that are evolving in this IR 4.0 with the use of IoT are smart manufacturing, smart supply chains, and connected logistics.
Compulsory Industrial
Taking on a 12-week industrial training in the final semester provides students with real-life working experience and a seamless transition to employment. MCKL is currently partnered with a range of industry-leading organisations to provide students with the best learning opportunities.
Future-oriented Curriculum
Our programme ensures that students are future-proof for the workforce by equipping them with industry relevant and in-demand skills. Get exposure to IoT Data Analytics, Cloud Computing and Cybersecurity in IoT.
Entrepreneurship Driven
In this era of technological advancement, a new form of entrepreneurship has emerged where the usage of technology is integral in converting ideas into innovative businesses. Build a solid foundation as a Technopreneur through studies of Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Digital Business at MCKL.
Industry Certification
Digital transformation has evolved the workplace to be technology reliant, and in today’s competitive environment, companies highly value digital skills. Students can obtain International Certification of Digital Literacy (ICDL) for various IR 4.0 skills set throughout the programme. This certification will enable students to showcase their digital literacy and technical skills to future employers.
Students who graduate from MCKL’s digital programmes can also be certified by AWS Academy as a Cloud Practitioner. This credential allows employers to identify talents with critical knowledge related to implementing cloud initiatives and foundational AWS knowledge. Graduating with these industry certifications will set students apart from peers in the competitive workforce, alongside their Information Technology diploma.
