Introduction
The Bachelor's program in Analytical Finance prepares you for a challenging career in the international world of finance. By giving you a solid foundation in Mathematics you will, among other things, learn to do a quantitative analysis of financial markets and manage financial portfolios.
The bachelor program in Analytical Finance is aimed at students looking for a challenging career in the international world of finance. The course explores economics from several different perspectives, from accounting in firms to management of financial portfolios and risk analysis in financial markets.
Analytical Finance is an internationally oriented program taught entirely in English. Students may take part in the international student exchange program at Mälardalen University and include in their studies a longer stay at one of their partner universities around the world.
The focus of the Bachelor's degree program is on economic and financial real-life problems, and the syllabus has been chosen to support this approach. Advanced financial software is used in teaching. The program has built-in flexibility and allows students to choose from a selection of subjects during all three years of study.
The first and second years offer basic courses in mathematics, business administration, economics, and computer science. During these two years, you will get acquainted with the subjects. In the following year, you are free to choose a specialization in applied mathematics, economics, or business administration.
Program Outcome
Upon graduation from the Analytical Finance programme you will be awarded a Bachelors degree. This provides graduates with competitive basic qualifications for obtaining an attractive position in a bank, stock exchange, investment, insurance or financial software company, government or other financial institution, or manufacturing company. You will also have the possibility to continue your education in the two-year master programme in Financial Engineering offered at Mälardalen University, or continue studying at another high-quality teaching institution or university anywhere in the world.
The international programme in Analytical Finance will give you a solid foundation in Mathematics/Applied Mathematics, Economics and in addition knowledge in Business Administration. To prepare you for a career in the financial industry, advanced financial software and programming languages are used in the teaching process. The focus of the programme is on using advanced mathematical tools to solve real-life problems.

Analytical Finance is internationally oriented and is taught entirely in English. It attracts both international and Swedish students.

As a graduate from this programme, you will have competitive qualifications for obtaining an attractive position in a bank, in the investment and insurance industries, in the government or a financial institution.
If you complete your education with a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics/Applied Mathematics you can also acquire a position in the business, working with information technologies and other fields of engineering.
