Introduction

The Bachelor of Arts in Global Studies curriculum integrates classroom learning with real-world experience from day one, emphasizing development of global leadership skills. Central to the program are requirements that students reside in Costa Rica, Europe, Australia, and a New York-based final capstone semester, where students complete their senior thesis. From these countries, they will travel to Panama, Nicaragua, Morocco, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Turkey, India, Thailand, and Bali. Global College students typically complete at least four internships during their study.

Key components of the curriculum include:

  • Developing first-hand awareness of multiple cultural perspectives on government, society, economics, ethics, religion, customs, and the environment and the worldwide impact of these crucial issues.
  • Studying with instructors who are experts in their field and conducting cutting-edge research with real-world application.
  • Overcoming communications obstacles, taking initiative, managing responsibilities, and practical problem solving in environments where your efforts make a real difference.
  • Building confidence and experience through internships at public service organizations, independent fieldwork sites, and volunteer opportunities.
