About LCCM

At LCCM, we're on a mission to transform the music industry into a fairer, more diverse, and musically exciting future. We believe in the value of higher education that extends beyond the classroom, fostering creative and cultural experimentation alongside personal development. Join us in developing lifelong skills in communication, creative expression, collaboration, and cultural understanding, while pursuing your talent, passions, and personal ambitions.

LCCM is the highest-ranked provider of music performance and music business degrees in the UK by student satisfaction (NSS 2019, 2020, 2021 & 2022). Our Central London location means you literally can’t get closer to Europe’s entertainment and music industry. Our degrees are awarded by the University for the Creative Arts, the leading arts university in national league tables (2020) and awarded Gold in the Teaching Excellence Framework.

Above all, at LCCM we value originality and innovation, not a one-size-fits-all model for mass music education. Our passion for innovation extends from our belief that every musician, vocalist or producer is uniquely themselves and can pursue a sound and style that is compelling, fresh and true.

Graduate opportunities and the skills demanded by employers today are radically different than in the past. Our unique approach recognises this, giving you a practical education that not only helps you master your chosen subject or instrument, but actively encourages collaboration, communication, initiative and hard work. With a reputation for nurturing creative talent, we have successfully bridged the gap between traditional universities, conservatoires and rock and pop schools, by combining the best elements of all three into a modern centre for artistic, creative and academic excellence.

Our Story

We’ve been doing this since 2002, when our founders, all professional musicians themselves, decided to launch a new college for contemporary popular music in the centre of London. The aim was to create a new approach to teaching music that mixed the best of the good universities and conservatories with an art school environment. The course that emerged embedded production with performance, establishing LCCM as the first music college where all students had to master both performance and production; a development that was increasingly evident in the music industry.
