Each student enrolled in the program is supported by faculty and mentors as they develop a person-centered plan to guide their journey at Lock Haven University.

The 75-credit professional Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Visual Arts provides a rigorous multi-disciplinary studio art, and art history foundation. Then, students select an 18-credit concentration for the degree from the following topics: Graphic Design, 2D Media; 3D Media; Drawing; Painting; Ceramics and Art History. All Visual Arts BFA students also take coursework in digital art and graphic design electives.

LHU’s accounting program focuses on decision modeling, risk analysis and measurement, and reporting of financial information. Our program prepares you for a career in accounting, entrance into graduate school, or for taking the CPA exam.

One of the strengths of the BA degree is its adaptability. Many students who choose to double major select the BA, as it allows ample space to complete courses in a second major. For example, students who intend to go on to graduate school for Art Therapy will often double major in Art and Psychology. Other disciplines that connect well as a double majors for careers are Art with Mass Communications, Art with Business, and Art with Computer Science. Past art majors have completed all of these double majors pairings and have found them to be excellent preparation for their careers goals.
