Introduction
Lindenwood offers an Art and Design (BA) with K-12 Education Certification Preparation. Students seeking (Grades K-12) certification must (1) earn a bachelor of arts in art and design and (2) complete the requirements for a minor in education (Grades K-12).
The Bachelor of Arts in Art and Design with K-12 Education Certification prepares students to teach art at a variety of levels. Beginning with a strong studio foundation, students also learn pedagogy, classroom management, and lesson planning before getting first-hand experience in the classroom themselves during student teaching. The teacher preparation component is interwoven into the program with an equal emphasis on studio experience and educational practice. The degree is ideal for students who want to share their love of the arts and design to help others with their education and similar creative passions.
