Founded in 1893 and located in Lewiston, Idaho, LC State’s warm and friendly campus provides a unique and safe learning environment, surrounded by the beauty of the LC Valley. While paying the lowest tuition among Idaho’s public four-year institutions, students choose from over 130 degrees and certificates including two- and four-year degrees in both academic and career and technical education fields. LC State is also proud to be a leader in online education with over 20 fully online degree programs.

LC State Today

LC State is a regional state college, operating under the governance of the Idaho State Board of Education. The college offers a wide range of undergraduate academic, professional, and career & technical programs leading to baccalaureate and associate degrees. The college also offers a number of programs leading to certificates. LC State’s primary emphasis areas are business, justice studies, nursing, social work, teacher preparation, and career & technical education. LC State maintains basic strengths in the liberal arts and sciences, which provide the general education core portion of the curriculum. The institution also conducts selected research studies and provides a variety of lifelong learning opportunities through its continuing education and workforce training programs. LC State works in collaboration with other state and regional postsecondary institutions to serve its diverse constituencies.

Governance

The Idaho State Board of Education is responsible for the general supervision, governance, and control of LC State and serves as its Board of Trustees.

    Admissions

    LC State welcomes students from over 30 countries to live, learn, and achieve their educational and professional goals. We are currently accepting applications for fall 2025, which begins on August 13, 2025. For priority scholarship consideration, apply by March 1. Application deadline: June 1.

    Scholarships and Funding

    Presidential International Academic Scholarship: *$5620 per semester | $11,014 per academic year

    Eligibility and Renewal:

    3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) or higher converted cumulative grade point average for initial award, and must maintain a 3.0 or higher cumulative grade point average for renewal.

    *Students with a 2.5-2.999 cumulative grade point average are eligible for scholarships of $1750 per semester | $3500 per academic year, with the opportunity for increases based on their academic performance.
