Lewis & Clark College

As a Lewis & Clark biology major, you will do biology: you will generate hypotheses, design studies, collect data in the lab and the field, analyze and interpret them, and communicate your findings through talks, posters, and papers. We think this is the best possible training for a career in biology and the best way to become a scientifically literate citizen.

We provide a wide variety of music performance and academic courses that are open to music majors, music minors, or simply music lovers. Our faculty are distinguished performers, composers, and musicologists who provide rich and rigorous coursework for all students at Lewis & Clark, from professionally-oriented students preparing for careers in music to dedicated non-majors who want to continue their musical studies.

We study meaning-making and meaning-sharing through rhetoric and media. Our goal is to provide you with effective theoretical and methodological tools for understanding how public messages, images, texts, stories, conversations, and symbols work. Ours is one of the first programs in the country to offer a major that integrates training in film/television studies with training in media and rhetorical analysis.
