Introduction

As a cinematographer, you must understand camera movement, composition and, most importantly, lighting. Learn how to guide a film's narrative through powerful imagery and become a master visual storyteller.

Earn your Bachelor of Science in Film Production. As a student, you'll be exposed to every stage of film production through a theoretical and gear-centric curriculum.

Our Bachelor of Science in Film Production Degree with a concentration in Cinematography is 120 credit hours and 36 months in length.

It's all about the look and feel of a film. Cinematography students will study the advanced camera system and its capabilities. Students gain extensive experience lighting for the advanced system, shooting in 4K, data management and understanding high-end digital cameras such as the Arri Alexa. This course will teach students how to progress the narrative forward through setting, mood and tone.

Show and tell a story through seamless camera movements. Learn the skills and aesthetics of camera operating and the equipment used by both independent Steadicam technicians as well as professional Steadicam operators. Students practice framing, composition, movement, balancing and finer points of operating as it relates to technique are the focus of this course.
