Introduction
The program is an inter-university course organized by 3 Italian Universities of excellence (the University of Milan La Statale, the University of Pavia, and the University of Milan-Bicocca). Taught in English, it trains experts in the theoretical foundations, techniques, methodologies, and applications of AI, promoting technological innovation and fostering the economic and social development of our country. The teaching activity takes various forms, including lectures, seminars, and laboratories.
The New Bachelor of Science in Artificial Intelligence is an international and inter-university project of the Universities of Milano-Bicocca, Milano Statale, and Pavia. Taught entirely in English, the program will have its administrative headquarters in Pavia, but classes will be held on all three campuses.
The program trains experts in the theoretical foundations, techniques, methodologies, and applications of artificial intelligence, in order to contribute to the diffusion and advancement of knowledge and skills on this subject and its applications, thus promoting technological innovation and fostering the economic and social development of our country. Graduates of the Artificial Intelligence program will have highly interdisciplinary knowledge and skills.
They will have received solid training in the fundamentals of some areas of computer science, mathematics, physics, statistics, and cognitive sciences, with a focus on the theoretical bases and techniques of artificial intelligence. They will also have ethical and legal training as required to understand the constraints that limit a socially acceptable use of these techniques.
In the final phase of training, students will have the opportunity to hone certain subjects of their choice, based on their personal goals, and learn how to apply artificial intelligence to specific areas, such as communication, automation and robotics, cognitive sciences, and physics technologies.

Scholarships and Funding
EDiSU Pavia (Ente per il Diritto allo Studio Universitario) is an Agency for the Right to Higher Education that was established by the University of Pavia and is under its direct control.
In order to apply for the EDiSU Pavia scholarship, students have to meet some merit-based and income-based requirements.
All EU and non-EU students, wherever geographically located (on-site, commuting, and off-site), can request the benefits.
For off-site students, the scholarship can consist of:
- Option 1) Accommodation in a Residence (“Collegio”) + one meal per day at the canteens + an amount of money
- Option 2) One meal per day at the canteens + an amount of money doubled compared to the previous option
Curriculum
The course focuses on contents that allow one to understand the theoretical bases and techniques of Artificial Intelligence, providing fundamentals of Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Cognitive Sciences, and also Law and Ethics, which is essential for understanding the constraints that limit the socially acceptable use of these new tools.
