Introduction
Speech-language therapists (SLTs) work to prevent, assess, diagnose, and treat disorders related to speech, voice, language, social communication, cognitive-communication, and swallowing in both children and adults.
Through clinical and scientific contributions, SLTs are integral members of professional medical teams, striving to enhance the quality of life for individuals of all ages and health backgrounds, including healthy individuals, patients, and those with special needs. Speech and language therapy is recognized as an independent and reputable profession in Turkey and globally.
Our goal is to train speech and language therapy experts who stay abreast of scientific advancements and technological progress, integrating this knowledge into clinical practice. We aim to develop professionals with a strong commitment to occupational ethics, collaborative spirit, and a high level of competence, focused on enhancing the well-being of their clients.
Our program emphasizes clinical practice, with hands-on training and practicum experiences provided in classrooms and clinical practice laboratories. Graduates earn the title of “Speech and Language Therapist.”
Speech and language pathology is among the most sought-after career paths in the health sciences worldwide. Though relatively new in Turkey, it offers one of the highest employment rates in the sector. Graduates may work in a variety of settings, including public and private hospitals, universities, educational institutions, therapy/rehabilitation and special education centers, public health organizations, and preventive and protective health institutions, or choose to establish a private practice.

Scholarships and Funding
İstanbul Medipol University provides scholarships to all international students to ease their educational expenses. This scholarship rate is 20%, and it is applied to all international students on the listed price in the application process.The special country scholarship rate is 15% for each student who has one of the following nationalities in the website.

Program Outcome
The Speech and Language Therapy program graduates take the title of “Speech and Language Therapist”. This title grants the degree holder the right to work in the field of prevention, assessment, and functional diagnosis and rehabilitation of communication, language, speech, voice, and swallowing disorders. Working with healthy, special-needs individuals and patients from neonate to old age, the Speech and Language Therapy program graduates are equipped with skills to practice their profession competently, through interdisciplinary interaction, abiding by the professional ethics and values, and following the latest scientific and technological developments.
