Introduction
The Bachelor’s Degree Program of the Department of Industrial Engineering is a 240 ECTS credits 4-year program composed of eight semesters, each of which has a 30 ECTS workload. One ECTS equals 25.5 hours of student workload per semester.
Industrial Engineers analyze human, machine, equipment, and other similar elements in both industry and service sectors. The aim of the Department of Industrial Engineering is to train engineers who can prevent and resolve problems by developing systems, models, and methods to plan, organize, implement and audit in all sectors.
Aims
- The educational objectives of the Department of Industrial Engineering are to produce graduates who work in the career areas in national/international companies, producing goods/services or in higher educational institutions or research institutes utilizing the skills gained in their industrial engineering education,
- Apply the knowledge and skills gained in their education in solving the problems, especially non-standard ones, throughout their professional pursuits,
- Are socially responsible, may communicate and work on teams that include colleagues from other disciplines, have ethical values and adopted professionalism,
- Have committed themselves to continuous learning and develop themselves with great desire, within 3-5 years.
Objectives
- Our objective is to train Industrial Engineers who possess a creative spirit for entrepreneurship and to contribute to the development of interdisciplinary research and participation in joint research programs. committing himself/herself to Atatürk's principles.

Program Outcome
Upon successful completion of the program designed in accordance with the aims and objectives of the program and the program learning outcomes in terms of knowledge, skills, and competencies given below, students/learners will be able to:
Knowledge
- Adequate knowledge in mathematics, physical sciences, and the engineering subjects of individual branches; the ability to implement theoretical and practical knowledge in the respective areas to modeling and solving engineering problems.
- Ability to identify, define, formulate and solve complex engineering problems; ability to select and implement the appropriate analysis and modeling methods in this respect.
- Ability to design and conduct experiments for analyzing engineering problems or research subjects specific to the discipline, to collect data, to analyze and interpret the results.
- Ability to use, choose and develop modern techniques and means required for engineering applications; ability to use information technologies effectively.
- Ability to design a complex system, process, device, or product to meet specific requirements under realistic restrictions and conditions; ability to implement the modern design methods for this purpose.
- Information about the effects of engineering applications on health, environment, and safety in terms of universal and social aspects and information about the problems of the era; awareness about the legal results of engineering solutions.
Skills
- Ability to communicate efficiently both in oral and written ways in Turkish; knowledge of at least one foreign language; ability to effectively prepare reports and understand written reports, prepare design and production reports, effective presentation, giving and receiving clear and understandable instructions.
- Acting in line with ethical principles, sense of professional and ethical responsibility; knowledge on the standards of engineering applications.
- Ability to work effectively in interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary teams and individual works.
- Knowledge of applications in business life like project management, risk management, and change management; awareness about entrepreneurship, innovativeness, and sustainable development.
- Awareness of the necessity of lifelong learning; ability to reach information, follow the latest developments in science and technology; ability to ensure self-renewal perpetually.
- Ability to identify potential market opportunities and develop new, creative solutions which meet customer needs and wishes.

Career Opportunities
Industrial Engineers are capable of working in all fields of industries. They take responsibility in all steps of product development; from product design up to the implementation process itself. Industrial Engineers can work as manufacturing engineers, maintenance and repairment managers, quality control engineers, AR-GE engineers, production planners, and marketing-sales experts. Industrial Engineering as a field of study explores the following topics in detail: profitability, effectivity, productivity, flexibility, sensitivity, and providing higher quality. Our program at İstanbul Aydın University helps students understand product and service improvement. To this end, the department focuses mainly on the following fields: behavioral management science, computer science, human resources, social sciences, and communication skills. Our graduates become successful in system design and in development and implementation by the continuous effort of the program in updating the course materials, science education, and modern techniques. The language of instruction in our program is English.
